About the Statue Of Unity
The Statue of Unity is a massive statue of Indian statesman and independence campaigner Vallabhbhai Patel (1875-1950), the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of independent India, and a supporter of Mahatma Gandhi during the nonviolent Indian Independence movement.
Patel was widely acclaimed for his efforts in forming the Union of India by bringing together 562 princely republics of India with a large portion of the erstwhile British Raj. The statue is located in Gujarat, India. At 182 meters (597 ft), it is the world's tallest statue.
