The Statue of Unity is a huge statue of Indian statesman and independence activist Vallabhbhai Patel (1875-1950), the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of independent India, and a Mahatma Gandhi supporter during the nonviolent Indian Independence movement.

Patel was well-known for taking the initiative to bring together 562 princely states of India and the majority of the old British Raj to form the Union of India. Gujarat, an Indian state, is where the statue is situated. With a height of 182 meters, it is the tallest statue in the entire world (597 feet).
